Juan loves academia and believes in architecture as an expression of values.   He possesses a treasured collection of architectural and art books as a reminder of what someone taught him a long time ago that books are quiet teachers.  Juan believes with conviction that architecture is the ultimate form of art and the most important human expression to record our history.   He sums those feelings up like this, “everything around us is architecture and there is no place you visit where you are not surrounded by architecture.”

A native of Colombia, Juan is an international traveler who has drawn inspiration from the many countries and cities that he has visited including Beijing, Shanghai, Chicago, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Dubrovnik, Istanbul and many others. Juan enjoys a full life outside of architecture where reading and writing poetry and listening to music accompanied by a good glass of wine or whiskey bring him great joy.
